.........and for the non-divers.........

Kuredu is first & foremost a destination aimed squarely at the beach holiday market.  When I enquired about the non-diver / diver ratio, the split was about 60 / 40.  This means that any non-divers in the party are well catered for.  Apart from the obvious diving facilities, there is a watersports centre offering windsurfing, kite surfing, sailing & canoeing.  A spa offers all the usual treatments.  A 9 hole golf course is set out in the centre of the island along with a football pitch that has Staff v Client matches arranged weekly.  The obligatory pool is by the beach along with its own bar.  In addition to the 3 restaurants that cater for the all inclusive guests, there are 3 al a carte restaurants serving grills, Italian & south east asian food.   We can recommend The Beach Grill, for simply cooked meat, fish & shellfish served on the beach under the stars.

One of the highlights of the holiday was the night fishing excursion.  You are taken out on a dhoni, just before sunset & spend a couple of very entertaining hours, fishing off the side of the boat with hand lines.  You can have any fish that you catch cooked at the Beach restaraunt for dinner the next day, delicious!  It's worth the cost of the trip to see the squeamish, squealy types dancing around a flapping fish
